Do You Know What Apoptosis Means?

If you do already then you are way ahead of me. But if you didn’t then let me share with you what I found out about Apoptosis.

Apoptosis means programmed cell death.

Cancer cells don’t die easy.

The normal cells in our body die off and get replaced on a regular basis. I guess we all know our bodies are made up of billions if not trillions of cells. For example about 80% of our skin is replaced every 28 days. The normal cells inside our body are also getting replaced. The cycle depends on the type of cell

Cancer cells, on the other hand,  do not die. They are like the Energizer Bunny, they keep going and going and going and going and going…… they don’t die

“The unique metabolism of most solid tumours (aerobic glycolysis, i.e., Warburg effect) is not only the basis of diagnosing cancer with metabolic imaging but might also be associated with the resistance to apoptosis that characterises cancer.”
